Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In the Mist of the Andes, Clouds in the Mountainside by Gonzalo Ariza was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,216.68). Admittedly, works by Gonzalo Ariza have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bogotá in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,197.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit In the Mist of the Andes, Clouds in the Mountainside von Gonzalo Ariza im September 2010 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.216,68) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gonzalo Ariza auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bogotá im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.197,99).
