A top price for Gong Pengcheng - as previously expected
The work Calligraphy In Seal Script by Gong Pengcheng was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. The price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,231.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Calligraphy In Seal Script is the most expensive artwork by Gong Pengcheng that we have observed at auctions so far.
