Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Gong Pengcheng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February 2021. In the Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy - Spring Is The Best Time Of The Year sold for HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,931.24) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gong Pengcheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Seal Script, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,231.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gong Pengcheng erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy - Spring Is The Best Time Of The Year für HKD 27.500,00 (€ 2.931,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gong Pengcheng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.231,45) versteigert wurde.
