This artwork by Glady MacCabe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2002. In the THE IRISH SALE auction, the work Market Day sold for GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,680.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Glady MacCabe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Clown with Cat sold at auction in May 2004 with the realized price of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,944.47).
