This artwork by Glady MacCabe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2004. In the Irish and 20th Century British Art auction, the work Clown with Cat sold for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,944.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. This high result makes Clown with Cat the most expensive artwork by Glady MacCabe that we have observed at auctions so far.
