In October 2000 Christies in London held the auction 19th and 20th Century Photographs, which included the work Nude Descending a Staircase (after Marcel Duchamp), 1950 by Gjon Mili. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,055.00 (€ 5,221.87), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gjon Mili - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Picasso Space Drawings, France, 1949, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 22,800.00 (€ 19,007.92).

Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th and 20th Century Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude Descending a Staircase (after Marcel Duchamp), 1950 von Gjon Mili zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.055,00 (€ 5.221,87) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gjon Mili mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Picasso Space Drawings, France, 1949 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 22.800,00 (€ 19.007,92) versteigert wurde.
