In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Cow-herds resting by a river in an Italianate landscape; and Cow-herds resting on a path in an Italianate landscape by Giuseppe Zais. The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,473.70) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Zais have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tiber, Rome, with the Castel Sant' Angelo and Saint Peter's in the background; and The Roman Forum in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 240,000.00 (€ 194,347.72).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cow-herds resting by a river in an Italianate landscape; and Cow-herds resting on a path in an Italianate landscape von Giuseppe Zais zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.473,70) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giuseppe Zais auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tiber, Rome, with the Castel Sant' Angelo and Saint Peter's in the background; and The Roman Forum im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 240.000,00 (€ 194.347,72).
