The work The Queen of Sheba presenting gifts to King Solomon by Giuseppe Porta was worth GBP 75,250.00 (€ 121,678.26) to a buyer in July 2000. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Porta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A bearded man, half-length, wearing a quartered doublet, gesturing to the left in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 402,650.00 (€ 642,242.37).
