Sold at the lower estimate price
In November 2017 Christies in London held the auction The Lure of Naples: A Private Collection of Italian Views, which included the work The Bay of Naples seen from the West by Giuseppe Gustavo Scoppa. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,702.72) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giuseppe Gustavo Scoppa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Carriages and figures on the Via della Riviera di Chiaia, Naples, which sold at auction in October 2003 for GBP 3,995.00 (€ 5,835.06).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Lure of Naples: A Private Collection of Italian Views durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bay of Naples seen from the West von Giuseppe Gustavo Scoppa zur Versteigerung kam.
