Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Two Stage Designs With Colonnades by Giuseppe Galli Bibiena. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,759.19), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Galli Bibiena achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Portico And Staircase Of A Palace With Soldiers And A Woman Being Carried Off On Horseback; An Imaginary View Of A Palace With A Horseman And Angels in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,337.59).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.759,19) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giuseppe Galli Bibiena erzielen.
