Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work The Agony in the Garden seen from a loggia by Giuseppe Galli Bibiena for USD 7,767.50 (€ 7,232.98). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century Drawings including Works on Paper at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Galli Bibiena achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Portico And Staircase Of A Palace With Soldiers And A Woman Being Carried Off On Horseback; An Imaginary View Of A Palace With A Horseman And Angels in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,337.59).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Portico And Staircase Of A Palace With Soldiers And A Woman Being Carried Off On Horseback; An Imaginary View Of A Palace With A Horseman And Angels im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 90.337,59).
