In the Old Master Drawings incl.Leonardo da Vinci's Horse and Rider auction, the work The Courtyard Of A Palace, For A Theatrical Set sold for GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,437.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Galli Bibiena have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Portico And Staircase Of A Palace With Soldiers And A Woman Being Carried Off On Horseback; An Imaginary View Of A Palace With A Horseman And Angels in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,337.59).
