Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Tullia driving her chariot over the body of her father, Servius Tullus by Giuseppe Bartolomeo Chiari. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,182.84), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giuseppe Bartolomeo Chiari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bathsheba at the Bath; and The Angel Appearing to Hagar in the Wilderness in January this year with an auction result of USD 378,000.00 (€ 348,130.41).
