Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work The Penitent Magdalene by Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 101,415.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Virgin And Child By A Window: "Madonna Of The Cherries" in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 2,770,500.00 (€ 2,020,051.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene von Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 101.415,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Pietro Rizzoli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Virgin And Child By A Window: "Madonna Of The Cherries" im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.770.500,00 (€ 2.020.051,04).
