Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Holding A Fan And A Domino Mask by Giovanni Maria delle Piane. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,318.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Maria delle Piane - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ritratto del principe Eugenio di Savoia (1663-1736), insignito del Toson d'Oro per la vittoria riportata a Vienna sull'esercito turco, which sold at auction in December 2001 for ITL 46,550,000.00 (€ 41,838.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Holding A Fan And A Domino Mask von Giovanni Maria delle Piane zur Versteigerung kam.
