Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two panels from a polyptych: Saint Peter, with Saint Ursula above; and Saint Gregory, with Saint Lucy above by Giovanni del Biondo was sold in the Old Masters auction at Christies in New York in January 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 126,000.00 (€ 110,120.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni del Biondo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Archangel Gabriel And The Virgin Annunciate in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 656,000.00 (€ 485,207.10).
