Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two panels from a polyptych: Saint John the Evangelist, with Saint Margaret above; and Saint Bartholomew, with Saint Catherine of Alexandria above by Giovanni del Biondo was auctioned at Christies in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 126,000.00 (€ 147,003.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni del Biondo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Archangel Gabriel And The Virgin Annunciate, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 656,000.00 (€ 485,207.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two panels from a polyptych: Saint John the Evangelist, with Saint Margaret above; and Saint Bartholomew, with Saint Catherine of Alexandria above von Giovanni del Biondo kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 126.000,00 (€ 147.003,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni del Biondo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Archangel Gabriel And The Virgin Annunciate beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 656.000,00 (€ 485.207,10) versteigert wurde.
