Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work La famille de Darius devant Alexandre by Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione was sold in the Alain Delon 60 Years of Passion auction at Bonhams in Paris in June this year. It achieved a price of EUR 95,650.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Pagan Sacrifice in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 971,750.00 (€ 1,571,306.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit La famille de Darius devant Alexandre von Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Alain Delon 60 Years of Passion bei Bonhams in Paris versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 95.650,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Benedetto Castiglione erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Pagan Sacrifice im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 971.750,00 (€ 1.571.306,96).
