Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of A Man, Seated At A Table With An Open Book, Reading A Letter by Giovanni Battista Trotti. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,175.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Giovanni Battista Trotti have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2012 the work Portrait Of A Man, Seated At A Table With An Open Book, Reading A Letter was auctioned for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,882.46).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.175,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
