Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,343.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Battista Trotti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Man, Seated At A Table With An Open Book, Reading A Letter, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,882.46).

Die Arbeit Christ Enthroned with the Madonna, Saint Francis kneeling below von Giovanni Battista Trotti wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 8.820,00 (€ 10.343,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00.
