Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings, which included the work A reclining prophet gesturing to the right: Design for a spandrel by Giovanni Battista della Rovere. The price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,317.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Battista della Rovere have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ In Glory, Adored By The Virgin, St. Francis, A Saint And Angels in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,281.80).
