Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings - CSK, which included the work View Of The Villa Maffei; Ruins In The Roman Campagna With Shepherds; A Capriccio Of Roman Monuments, With A Figure By An Urn In The Foreground; And A Fortified Oratory In The Campagna by Giovanni Battista Busiri. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,626.39), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Busiri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Six Roman Views: The Colosseum; The Temple Of Vesta At Tivoli; The Waterfalls At Tivoli; The Pyramid Of Caius Cestius; The Temple Of Vesta In Rome; The Tomb Of Caecilia Metella in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 41,250.00 (€ 53,102.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings - CSK durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Of The Villa Maffei; Ruins In The Roman Campagna With Shepherds; A Capriccio Of Roman Monuments, With A Figure By An Urn In The Foreground; And A Fortified Oratory In The Campagna von Giovanni Battista Busiri zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Six Roman Views: The Colosseum; The Temple Of Vesta At Tivoli; The Waterfalls At Tivoli; The Pyramid Of Caius Cestius; The Temple Of Vesta In Rome; The Tomb Of Caecilia Metella im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.250,00 (€ 53.102,43).
