Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dream Of Saint Joseph by Giovanni Baglione was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2013. The price achieved of GBP 146,500.00 (€ 167,401.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Baglione - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint John The Baptist In The Wilderness, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 313,250.00 (€ 386,324.25).
