Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Judith With The Head Of Holofernes by Giovanni Baglione. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 73,867.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni Baglione have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint John The Baptist In The Wilderness in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 386,324.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Judith With The Head Of Holofernes von Giovanni Baglione zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 73.867,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Baglione auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint John The Baptist In The Wilderness im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 313.250,00 (€ 386.324,25).
