Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Conquest Of Tyro by Giovanni Antonio Guardi was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Sothebys in London in July 2014. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 59,912.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Antonio Guardi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Apollo; and Diana, which sold at auction in June 2015 for USD 245,000.00 (€ 219,652.14).
