A top price for Giovanni Antonio Guardi - as previously expected
In June 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Apollo; and Diana by Giovanni Antonio Guardi. The price achieved of USD 245,000.00 (€ 219,652.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 220,000.00 – 260,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Apollo; and Diana is the most expensive artwork by Giovanni Antonio Guardi that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Apollo; and Diana von Giovanni Antonio Guardi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 245.000,00 (€ 219.652,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 220.000,00 – 260.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Apollo; and Diana das teuerste Kunstwerk von Giovanni Antonio Guardi, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
