In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Thinking Italian Evening Auction, which included the work Torsione by Giovanni Anselmo. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,811,250.00 (€ 2,100,920.10), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Anselmo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Torsione, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 6,437,000.00 (€ 5,855,011.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Thinking Italian Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Torsione von Giovanni Anselmo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.811.250,00 (€ 2.100.920,10) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Anselmo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Torsione beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 6.437.000,00 (€ 5.855.011,82) versteigert wurde.
