Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Selected Works from The Collection of Anton & Annick Herbert for the Benefit of The Herbert Foundation, which included the work Oltremare A Ovest (Ultramarine to the West) by Giovanni Anselmo. The price achieved of USD 98,500.00 (€ 73,217.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Anselmo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Torsione in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 6,437,000.00 (€ 5,855,011.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Selected Works from The Collection of Anton & Annick Herbert for the Benefit of The Herbert Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oltremare A Ovest (Ultramarine to the West) von Giovanni Anselmo zur Versteigerung kam.
