In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints, which included the work Design for a decorative frieze with the emblem of Pope Sixtus V, and allegorical figures including Astronomy, flanked by putti (recto); An architectural study (verso) by Giovanni Alberti. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,750.00 (€ 9,088.48), 55% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Alberti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recto And Verso: Studies Of A Seated Male Nude, And Of His Raised Left Arm in January 2012 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 93,848.16).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.750,00 (€ 9.088,48) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Alberti erzielen.
