Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art, which included this untitled work by Gimhongsok. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,300.00 (€ 12,651.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gimhongsok have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Canine Construction in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 95,050.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern, Contemporary & Latin American Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Gimhongsok zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.300,00 (€ 12.651,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gimhongsok auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Canine Construction im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 95.050,51).
