This artwork by Giles Hussey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2017. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Portrait Of Prince Charles Edward Stuart, 'The Younger Pretender' (1720-1788) sold for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,066.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giles Hussey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-1788), bust-length, looking to the left, in armour, which sold at auction in October 2002 for GBP 22,705.00 (€ 35,915.31).
