This artwork by Giles Hussey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2009. In the The Roger Warner Collection - Part I auction, the work Portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-1788) 'The Young Pretender', small half-length, in profile to sinister, in armour and a sash, in a feigned oval sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,095.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giles Hussey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-1788), bust-length, looking to the left, in armour in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 22,705.00 (€ 35,915.31).
In der Auktion The Roger Warner Collection - Part I wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-1788) 'The Young Pretender', small half-length, in profile to sinister, in armour and a sash, in a feigned oval für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.095,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00.
