In October 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a boy, traditionally known as John Wolffe, half-length, in a satin waistcoat and fur-lined blue coat, at a writing table by Giles Hussey. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,364.85), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giles Hussey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-1788), bust-length, looking to the left, in armour, which sold at auction in October 2002 for GBP 22,705.00 (€ 35,915.31).
