Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures, which included the work The Old Swan Inn by Gilbert Scott Wright. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,755.00 (€ 15,455.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Gilbert Scott Wright have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2005 the work Over the Fence was auctioned for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Old Swan Inn von Gilbert Scott Wright zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.755,00 (€ 15.455,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Scott Wright konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2005 die Arbeit Over the Fence für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.715,77) versteigert.
