In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Forest Boy by Gieve Patel. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,333.76), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gieve Patel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Off Lamington Road in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 149,000.00 (€ 208,413.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forest Boy von Gieve Patel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.333,76) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gieve Patel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Off Lamington Road im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 149.000,00 (€ 208.413,78).
