This artwork by Gieve Patel achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in May 2006. In the International Modern & Contemporary Art at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai auction, the work A View of The Matter sold for USD 31,200.00 (€ 24,312.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gieve Patel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Off Lamington Road in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 149,000.00 (€ 208,413.78).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gieve Patel erzielte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion International Modern & Contemporary Art at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai wurde die Arbeit A View of The Matter für USD 31.200,00 (€ 24.312,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gieve Patel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Off Lamington Road im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 149.000,00 (€ 208.413,78).
