Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View of the Colosseum, Rome, with Figures and Carriages; and A View of the Basilica of Maxentius, Rome, with Figures and Carriages by Giacomo van Lint was sold in the Out of Office: Art that Transports auction at Christies in London in June 2020. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,533.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giacomo van Lint have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roma, Piazza Del Popolo; E Roma, Veduta di Piazza Del Pantheon in November 2006 with an auction result of EUR 130,200.00.

Die Arbeit A View of the Colosseum, Rome, with Figures and Carriages; and A View of the Basilica of Maxentius, Rome, with Figures and Carriages von Giacomo van Lint wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Out of Office: Art that Transports bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.533,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giacomo van Lint auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roma, Piazza Del Popolo; E Roma, Veduta di Piazza Del Pantheon im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 130.200,00.
