In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Road to Rome: Property from a Distinguished Italian Private Collection, Part I, which included the work Rome, A View Of The Apse Of Saint Peter'S, With An Artist Sketching In The Foreground by Giacomo van Lint. The »bidding war« ended at USD 62,500.00 (€ 57,699.41), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giacomo van Lint - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roma, Piazza Del Popolo; E Roma, Veduta di Piazza Del Pantheon, which sold at auction in November 2006 for EUR 130,200.00.

Im Januar 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Road to Rome: Property from a Distinguished Italian Private Collection, Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rome, A View Of The Apse Of Saint Peter'S, With An Artist Sketching In The Foreground von Giacomo van Lint zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 57.699,41) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giacomo van Lint mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roma, Piazza Del Popolo; E Roma, Veduta di Piazza Del Pantheon beobachtet, die im November 2006 für EUR 130.200,00 versteigert wurde.
