Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Saint Francis of Assisi by Giacinto Brandi was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,674.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacinto Brandi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Sybil Holding A Paper in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,128.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Saint Francis of Assisi von Giacinto Brandi im Februar 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.674,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacinto Brandi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Sybil Holding A Paper im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.128,35).
