In July 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Elegant company conversing before a capriccio of classical ruins by Gherardo Poli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,637.50 (€ 12,182.11), 53% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gherardo Poli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Capriccio Of A Town With Elegant Figures Arriving On Horseback And In Carriages, A Couple Dancing In The Centre Of The Square; A Capriccio Of A Town With Figures On Horseback Resting For Refreschments, A Man Being Drawn In A Cart In The Foreground in April 2010 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 81,534.49).

Im Juli 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elegant company conversing before a capriccio of classical ruins von Gherardo Poli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.637,50 (€ 12.182,11) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gherardo Poli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Capriccio Of A Town With Elegant Figures Arriving On Horseback And In Carriages, A Couple Dancing In The Centre Of The Square; A Capriccio Of A Town With Figures On Horseback Resting For Refreschments, A Man Being Drawn In A Cart In The Foreground im April 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.850,00 (€ 81.534,49).
