In July 2002 Christies in London held the auction Important Old Master Pictures, which included the work An architectural capriccio of a Mediterranean port with elegant company on a promenade by Gherardo Poli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,950.00 (€ 19,060.71), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gherardo Poli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Capriccio Of A Town With Elegant Figures Arriving On Horseback And In Carriages, A Couple Dancing In The Centre Of The Square; A Capriccio Of A Town With Figures On Horseback Resting For Refreschments, A Man Being Drawn In A Cart In The Foreground in April 2010 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 81,534.49).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 19.060,71) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
