Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Romanian Still Life by Gheorghe Petrascu was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings including German, Austrian & Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and The Scandinavian Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2009. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,002.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by Gheorghe Petrascu have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2019 the work Still Life With Roses And Books was auctioned for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 41,098.56).
