Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Queen of hearts by Gertrude Demain Hammond was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art auction at Christies in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,524.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gertrude Demain Hammond - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highlights (A Study), which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 7,180.33).
