Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction The Art of Travel, which included the work Australia by Gert Sellheim. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,405.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gert Sellheim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work AUSTRALIA, SURF CLUB in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,812.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Art of Travel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australia von Gert Sellheim zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.405,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gert Sellheim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit AUSTRALIA, SURF CLUB im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.812,42).
