It achieved a price of EUR 3,000.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerrit Rietveld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hoge armchair, designed in 1919, our model of 1963 in February 2021 with an auction result of EUR 214,200.00.

Die Arbeit (i) Berlin chair (ii) Steltman chair von Gerrit Rietveld kam im September 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 3.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerrit Rietveld erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hoge armchair, designed in 1919, our model of 1963 im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 214.200,00.
