Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work View Of A Town, With Church And Castle Buildings Above A River by Gerrit Battem. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,557.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Battem have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Figures On A Frozen Canal in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,027.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Of A Town, With Church And Castle Buildings Above A River von Gerrit Battem zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.557,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Battem auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Figures On A Frozen Canal im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 35.027,61).
