Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer, which included the work Still Life with Fruit and Jug by Gerrit Albertus Beneker. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,167.50 (€ 1,953.93), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gerrit Albertus Beneker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Riding The Tide, Provincetown in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,473.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with Fruit and Jug von Gerrit Albertus Beneker zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.167,50 (€ 1.953,93) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerrit Albertus Beneker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Riding The Tide, Provincetown im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.473,15).
