This artwork by Germain-Théodore Ribot achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2005. In the 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures auction, the work Waiting For Business sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,912.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Germain-Théodore Ribot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Flowers In A Blue Vase, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,635.15).

In der Auktion 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit Waiting For Business für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.912,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Germain-Théodore Ribot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French Flowers In A Blue Vase beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 9.635,15) versteigert wurde.
