Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work A still life with eggs, plums and a lemon, on a draped ledge by Germain-Théodore Ribot for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,359.96). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Germain-Théodore Ribot have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2008 by the work French Flowers In A Blue Vase at USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,635.15).
