Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Germain-Théodore Ribot could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and 19th Century European Art auction, the work Still Life With Bottle, Inkpot And Letter changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,211.31) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Germain-Théodore Ribot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Flowers In A Blue Vase, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,635.15).
